Vice President Joseph Biden’s Dec. 4-5 visit to China was enthusiastically covered by China’s state media as yet another unmistakable sign that Washington values its relations with Beijing over ties with ally Japan. Biden made it easy for the Chinese spin doctors. He repeatedly stated during his visit to his Chinese hosts that the U.S-China relations are “the most important bilateral relationship in the 21st century.”
