Six Apache attack helicopters arrived in the Taiwanese port of Kaohsiung Nov. 4, to an enthusiastic greeting by a crowd of defense officials and civilians. The shipment marked a rare occasion in which a U.S. weapons sale to Taiwan did not cause Beijing to explode in anger toward Washington.
