Intel: North Korea readies underground nuclear site, tests missile engines

South Korea’s military intelligence agency said that North Korea has conducted five missile engine tests at the Tongchang-ri launch pad where it launched a long-range rocket in December 2012 and has been renovating the test facility. During a parliamentary audit, the Defense Intelligence Agency said North Korea also has an underground nuclear test site in Punggye-ri in the northeast area in test-ready condition, according to Rep. Cho Won-Jin of the ruling Saenuri Party who joined the closed-door audit of the DIA.
