Japan to double aerial re-fueling capability to counter China’s new ADIZ gambit

To counter China’s attempt to dominate a large airspace by establishing the East China Air Defense Identification Zone, the Shinzo Abe government of Japan is proposing in a new Japanese defense outline to double Japan’s military aerial refueling capability. The intent would be to enhance air patrol and maritime surveillance in the southwestern part of Japan’s territorial waters, fiercely disputed by China.
