Japan’s Abe again frustrates China with planned SE Asia diplomatic initiative

Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced Oct. 30 that he would visit Cambodia and Laos in mid-November and took the occasion to warn China against the unilateral use of force to change the geopolitical status quo in the region. “I hope that we can safeguard the freedom of the seas, and jointly incubate an Asia that is democratic and respectful of human rights,” said Abe.
