Japan’s unprecedented inter-service exercise is geared to defending, retaking Senkakus

Starting on Nov. 1, Japan Self Defense Forces will conduct a large scale 18-day inter-service military exercise with the primary objective of defending and retaking Japanese islands lost to an enemy force, presumably China’s People’s Liberation Army. The drill will be conducted in Okinawa and Kyushu and it will be the first time for the JSDF to conduct a live drill on surface-to-ship missile [SSM] operations.
