N. Korean officials in China recalled by Pyongyang after Jang’s purge; Ambassador remains in Beijing

SEOUL — Large numbers of North Korean businessmen and officials in China have been summoned back to their country in the aftermath of the purge and execution of Jang Song-Thaek. Most of the affected businessmen worked out of the northeastern Chinese cities of Shenyang and Dandong to facilitate trade between the two countries and attract Chinese investment in North Korea, South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported, citing sources in Shenyang.
