The Taiwanese defense minister Yan Ming announced Nov.14 that Taiwan’s future weapons acquisition would put anti-submarine warfare weapons and submarines at the top of its priorities. Mr. Yan made the announcement to the public during a budgetary hearing at Taiwan’s legislative body, the Li Fa Yuan. “We’ve already acquired from the U.S. P-3C ASW aircraft, our next [top priority] will be submarines themselves,” said Mr. Yan.
