U.S. quietly building up Pacific fleet capability to answer China’s ‘burgeoning of technology’

Air Force Maj. Gen. Michael Keitz, director of the Pentagon’s Joint Staff strategic planning and policy office, said that China’s growing weapons technology has prompted a quiet buildup up of U.S. forces, including the stationing of three of the six U.S. squadrons of F-22 fighter bombers, the military’s most advanced stealth jet.

Keitz said there has been a mistaken impression that the U.S. has been transitioning out of Asia because of the Middle East conflicts.
