Vietnam tests mini-submarine with advanced propulsion technology

A private Vietnamese firm has successfully conducted a week-long series of sea trials for an indigenously-designed and engineered mini-submarine, a Vietnamese online publication reported. The mini-sub has sophisticated mechanical and electric control and navigation system, including the world-class technology of Air Independent Propulsion, which allows the vessel to remain operational underwater for a sustained period of time, thus increasing its stealth and the ability to launch surprise attacks on the enemy.
