President Xi Jinping has warned that the survival of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) hinges on its ability to control the Internet. In an unpublicized speech that was first circulated among liberal Chinese intellectuals this week, the 60-year-old supreme leader said that “the Internet is a formidable foe that could lead to the death of the party and the state.”
